I came across some interesting statistics relating to the online games industry and wanted to share them:
Zynga:
- Reprots indicate that Zynga have 200 million active users
- 8 million of those users make regular purchases, 1 million of the purchasing users contribute to the bulk of the revenues.
Gartner Forecasts that the the global games industry would have been worth $50 billion by 2011 and that this will increase to $115 billion by 2017.
Flash:
There’s a lot of talk that Flash is dead, you wouldn’t think so when you consider that Flash has 11x more reach than game consoles – now that’s a pretty big market.
